It was a readable and enjoyable book, but I can't give it five stars for a couple of silly mistakes that a good editor should have caught. The first was geographic, the detective is searching Sacramento for potential victims "who owned or rented houses on the ocean." There is no ocean in Sacramento - it's an inland city on a river. The second was automotive. Searching a garage, the detective comes across several cars. "Among the vehicles there were two Porches, a limousine, a Porsche...." I'm not sure what a Porch is in the automotive world, but a quick Internet search came up empty. If you're looking for a quick read for one of those Sacramento beaches, this is your book. Throw it into your beach bag and drive your Porch down to a Sacramento beach.Product details

Detective Kevin Harmes of the LAPD is on the case, and he is driven to the brink with his desire to catch the killer, even risking his own life with a face to face meeting. Bloody scenes, a very sick mind, and a twist-of-an-ending makes Box Office Butcher Smash Hit very entertaining, I enjoyed it immensely.
I love the storyline of the novel, everything felt so real. The story of a killer who goes about killing people just as it was portrayed in a box office movie. The murder case makes people rush to the cinema just to watch the movie, while the killer kept on killing people as portrayed in the movie. I have always loved the idea of people doing whatever they saw in movies, this made me love this novel. RWK Clark really did a great work in the writing.
Discovered this author by mistake, but I wish all accidents were this rewarding. Highly recommend. Also this is one of the very few author's that thank the readers!!! So many writers forget that if it weren't for us, they would not be on the best seller list! Good job Mr. Clark!!!
Wow! This book was brutal and evil and so good! 2nd book by this author and I am hooked! His mind is a scary place! This particular killer had no chance in life whatsoever. As sick and twisted as this killer was, the author made me understand why and how he became such a monster. I could feel the pain he went through, and as much as it disgusts me I felt sympathetic towards him to a point. He will be in my head and nightmares for a while.

Another clear winner for this fine, talented author. I was hooked from the first few sentences. I could literally not put down this book. The characters portrayed reeled me in and I found myself turning page after page trying to figure out who this serial killer was. Shocking ending. Don't miss out on this jewel of a thriller, folks!! Very impressive work again, Mr. Clark!!
I'm a huge fan of Dexter (TV series) and kept going on and on about how interesting I found the bay harbor butcher to a colleague the other day. She recommended this book and told me that it's gonna blow my mind away. I usually keep low expectations from books recommended by others and decided to just read a few pages and only continue if I was really intrigued.
The plot of Box Office Butcher is creative, fresh and extremely fast paced. The continuous mysterious murders kept me guessing and pondering throughout. Without giving any spoilers away, I can tell you that this is undoubtedly one of the most well written murder mysteries that I've ever read. Grab yourself a copy of it if you're looking for a story that'll simply blow your mind away!
